26 Merry Christmas Diffuser Blends

Christmas essential oil diffuser blends can be used to make your home smell wonderful and lift your spirits. Remember, essential oils aren’t just about fragrance. They have mood-enhancing properties, too.

You can put together one of these tried and true blends or try mixing your own. Maybe use a blend recipe but add a little more clove or a little less spruce, if you like. Blend the oils now and put them in a dropper bottle so that they will already be prepared when you need them.

All you will have to do is add a little water to your diffuser, add 5 to 10 drops of your holiday blend and turn on the diffuser. Your home will smell like Christmas in no time.

1. Evergreen Tree

If you enjoy the scent of a fresh-cut evergreen tree, you will want to keep this blend at the ready. Mix 6 drops of fir needle essential oil, 3 drops of cypress or spruce essential oil, 2 drops of nutmeg essential oil and 1 drop of orange essential oil together.

You may want to experiment with different types of spruce in this blend, if you decide to go with spruce rather than cypress. Blue spruce smells very much like an evergreen tree all on its own.

It has a bright, fresh evergreen fragrance. Black spruce essential oil smells a bit smoky, almost like the smell of smoke from a neighbor’s wood-burning stove or a campfire.

2. Evergreen Boughs

This blend is slightly different from the evergreen tree blend. It consists of 6 drops of fir needle essential oil, 4 drops of pine essential oil, 3 drops of cypress or spruce essential oil and 1 drop of wintergreen essential oil.

The wintergreen gives the blend just a hint of mint. It’s just enough mint to make the vapors smell a little more fresh. You can swap the wintergreen for another mint, but you will probably want to use spearmint or India peppermint. Regular peppermint doesn’t have that slightly sweet minty fragrance.
